Seiko Mens Prospex Alpinist Automatic Green Date Dial Brown Leather Strap Watch SPB121J1

Seiko Prospex Alpinist Automatic Green Dial Brown Leather Strap Mens Watch SPB121J1 Background : Seiko Prospex Alpinist SPB121J1 Automatic Brown Leather Mens Watch is a perfect fit for a large portion of the watch-wearing and collecting section. The timepiece can be summed up as being reliable, robust and attractive. This has meant that the Alpinist range has become immensely popular since its original exclusive release in Japan in 2006. We are happy and proud to announce that we are one of a select few to have stock of the three new Alpinist models among our renowned Seiko collection, one of the biggest in the UK. Style: The gold indexes, hands and logo are all created with a precision that is well worth of its value. Also, the green dial draws from Seiko's rich heritage as one of the first to make and produce watches with a green dial. Also, on the reverse of the case is a exhibition window which allows you to see all the intricate workings of the watch. In terms of visualisation the only upgrade is the branded Prospex 'X' logo at 12 o'clock.  The case comes in a convinient 39.5mm diameter, 13.2mm thickness alongside the strap having a lug-to-lug width of 46mm. The strap consists of a 20mm reptilian-embossed brown calf stitched leather strap with a push-button deployment clasp. Functions: Now, Seiko have taken the aspects of the 2006 model and upgraded them ever so slightly. The new model uses a 6R35 calibre which comes with a colossal seventy hour power reserve, 21,600 beats per minute and sapphire crystal which has been reworked, now with a date magnifier and an anti-reflective coating on the inner surface. The anti-reflective coating helps to prevent glare on the watch which is particularly beneficial when climbing up a mountain on a hot summers day.   The watch has a 'go anywhere, do anything' water resistance of 200 metres. On the side of the case is a twin crown setup, with the lower controlling the inner compass with the one positioned at 3 o'clock controlling the time and date. Again, the inner compass further boasts the main purpose of the piece to scale the highest of mountains.   Click here to view our  Alpinist range . Made In Japan: For all you Seiko enthusiasts, this premium timepiece has been made and produced in Japan, indicated by the suffix ‘J’. Seiko watches made in Japan are notoriously hard to obtain outside of Japan due to the highest quality of craftsmanship and astonishing features that come in each individual timepiece. The Prospex Story: Scuba-diving became increasingly popular around the 1960’s, an example of this was the formation of the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) in 1965. Moreover, diving equipment was becoming increasingly reliable, so more people began to dive recreationally. There was of course a crucial need for divers to be able to time their dives. Subsequently, the watch market responded to this necessity by flooding the market with reliable dive watches. In 1965, Seiko first produced their original dive watch - the 6217. This was the very first Japanese dive watch and it paved the path for future divers that claim to meet Seiko’s Professional Specifications (the Prospex). The original 6217 was notably worn by the 8th Japanese Antarctic expedition. This model featured bidirectional rotating bezel, distinctive and lumed hands, and an easy-to-grip crown. Although professional divers were still pining for a dive watch that had the capability of going deeper than 300 metres. The Seiko development team went about going to produce a watch which was capable of doing so. The year 1975 marks the release of the first Seiko Prospex, with the ability to be used in 600 metres of depth. It's first diver watch to use a titanium case instead of a standard steel case. It was also the first to use a ceramic shroud for deep-sea diving and the fi
