What is Germoloids Cream 25g? Germoloids Cream is used in order to relieve the symptoms of swelling, pain, and irritation associated with external and internal haemorrhoids and anal itching (pruritus ani). The cream has two active substances, lidocaine and zinc oxide: • Lidocaine works as a local anaesthetic, which helps to soothe pain, swelling and irritation and relieve itching. • Zinc oxide has astringent properties (which cause contraction of the skin when applied), that help to shrink swelling. It also has mild antiseptic properties and helps to protect and soothe the area around the anus from damage. The cream base works as an emollient in order to help reduce straining during bowel movement and passing of stools which is bad for haemorrhoids. There are many suitable products that effectively treat piles but nothing is more effective than Germoloids because it contains a local anaesthetic.
