Product Description

DVI-D Male to 2 x DVI-I Female Splitter - 115mm LengthHow to use – this cable is used for connecting audio/video sources with a DVI-D output, such as PCs and laptops, to two inputs such as found on monitors or TVs.The male end of the cable is plugged into the source e.g. PC or laptop. Two additional DVI cables are then used to connect the two female ends of the splitter to two audio/video outputs, e.g. two TVs, or a TV and a monitor etc. This allows an audio/video source to be played on two outputs, either in separate rooms or both in the same room (for example in public venues).Compatibility – the two female ends of this splitter are dual link DVI-I, meaning that they are compatible with both dual and single link DVI-I cables as well as being backwards compatible with DVI-D (dual and single link). The male end of this cable is dual link DVI-D, meaning that it has the same level of compatibility as DVI-I dual link, except it is unable to carry analogue signal. This is rarely a problem in modern applications however, as nearly all DVI devices use digital signal. This is not an active splitter meaning it does not require power, however, we would recommend not using cables longer than 5 metres in length on each DVI-I female connector as the digital signal strength will deteriorate, particularly at higher resolutions. If used in this way, this DVI-D splitter is suitable for all resolutions, up to WQUXGA (3840 × 2400).Locking connectors – ensuring splitter cannot be accidentally disconnected and may be hung from a source without fear of the cable becoming loose.Nickel plated connectors – For a high quality signal.Excellent standard of manufacture – high quality shielding, durable PVC jacket and strain-minimising connectorsStandards - RoHS compliant.
