The striking petals radiate outwards from a deep-brown central cone producing stunning blooms from July to September. Perfect for cut flower displays within the home with their tall stems. Great for attracting bees and butterflies, these are ideal for cottage and wildlife gardens.Pot up echinacea plants and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to transplant outdoors. Gradually acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days prior to planting out in borders. Grow echinacea plants in a sunny or semi shaded position on moist, well- drained soil. Coneflowers prefer a deep, fertile soil and will benefit from the addition of some well- rotted manure or garden compost to soil, prior to planting. Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season until coneflower plants are fully established. Deadhead faded Echinacea flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. In autumn, cut back faded flower stems and apply a mulch of well-rotted manure to the base of the plant.
